1. Making the Trip Worth It!Cy Rossi made the trip from New York to get a bit “Northern” with Northern NH Guide Services.
3. They don’t have these in Kentucky!Jimmy Hepner and his wife came from Kentucky to see what NH Moose Hunting was all about. First time visitors to the Granite State, Jimmy got to see a lot of the country on the first couple days of his NH Moose Hunt. Perseverance for Guide Chris Norton finally paid off when Jimmy took this great Bull in WMU B on the morning of his third day. Nice job Jimmy!
4. Not bad for a first time!Paul Liberty had this planned for years. He was taking his son Shane hunting. Shane, 41 agreed to go along with Dad on this special trip to the North Country. With Shane’s “lucky” camouflage jacket they set off with Guide Dave Noyes. “The first day was the worse opening day for moose hunting I have ever seen.” Said Dave. “The weather was not on our side and the moose were hunkered down tight.” Despite a valiant effort, only 5 moose were spotted on the first day, none of which gave the father and son team an opportunity. Day two was a different story. Accompanied by Mike, professional outdoor videographer from Maineiac Outdoors the group saw moose right away. A cow and a calf presented themselves early. We hung around a bit for the bull but he was nowhere to be seen. After a march through two cuttings, Dave did not want to tire the group too early after a grueling first day. On his way back to pick-up the UTV, Dave spotted fresh tracks crossing the trail. He followed the tracks to the bottom of a bog, not far down from the trail. There he found a cow and a calf and next to them was the moose they have been looking for. A mature bull with wide paddles and stellar eye-guards.Guide Dave hurried back and retrieved the crew. Shane was given the honors of taking the bull with the new Remington bought for this occasion. Shane made it look easy for being a first time hunter. One squeeze of the trigger and Shane’s shot on the bull was perfect, knocking him down with the single shot. Shane got a bit a “War Paint” for the occasion and father Paul could not have been more proud. 52 inches wide and 805 pounds dressed was the official weigh in. Congrats guys on a great experience!
