Need to Know About NH Hunting?

The 2009-2010 Hunting & Trapping Digest is available here with a great new look.

2009-2010 NH Hunting and Trapping Digest

To make sure your hunt goes on "without a hitch" you will need to know the following:

  • Hunts can take place on the varied terrain of Northern NH. Please be prepared to negotiate rough terrain if your hunt calls for it. We strive to accommodate hunters of all abilities.
  • Bring clothes and equipment to prepare you for any type of weather. You may be out in the elements for extended periods of time, at various elevations. If your able, bring two of everything. (We can keep hunting while your other clothes dry by the fire.)
  • Be familiar with the NH Fish & Game rules and regulations. Your guide will assist you but, being familiar not only will help you, it will help your guide.
  • Have a plan what to do with your game. Any size moose or a large deer or bear will require ample space to store your meat. Bring enough coolers to transport your game home.

In order for us to process your hunt we will need the following items:

  • Your name, age, address, phone number.
  • Your Sub-Permitee or people with you on the hunt and their name, age, address, phone number.
  • Your NH Hunting License number.
  • Your lodging arrangements (If not included with your hunt).
  • Any special considerations     (Physical Limitations*, medical issues, transportation, etc.)
  • What method you plan on taking your game. (Firearm, Muzzleloader, Archery)

*NNHGS does not discriminate against anyone with disabilities. Hunts can be catered to all abilities and needs. Hunts requiring special attention may require additional planning to ensure the success of your hunt.

What Zones (WMU's) do I pick on my Moose Lottery Application?

If you want to hunt with us and maximize your chances of harvesting a great moose pick the following zones (WMU's) in THIS order on your application:

C2, A2, C1, B, A1, D2

We do not typically guide in any other zone (WMU) in the state.

The Northern New Hampshire Moose is the largest big game animal in New Hampshire. Hunters lucky enough to draw a “once in a lifetime” Moose Permit know how important this hunt is.

Why leave this opportunity to chance? Moose hunts are what we excel at. However, our clients 100% sighting and 99% success rate  for moose speaks for itself. (Only one hunter in eleven years went home early without a moose!) We have always been able to put our clients in front of moose. Over eleven years and dozens of satisfied clients later, Northern NH Guide Services has never sent a hunter home unhappy. Other guides cannot make this claim.

What makes us so special? We have invested the time; we have the knowledge and possess the resources to provide the best Moose hunting experience New Hampshire has to offer.

We guide for Moose in the following WMU's: A2, B, C1, C2, D1, & D2.

Our Moose Hunts book early so if you are considering hiring a guide, give us a call. We can answer any question you may have regarding your hunt. References are available.

We strive to provide the best hunts for a affordable price!

Don't be fooled by guides charging you "Extra" for a "Bigger" moose. We don't charge extra, we just deliver extra. Just ask the guide service that has delivered the largest moose taken by a guided client in the last 5 years. (2009 Largest NH Bull, Joe Hill 940 lbs.)

Remember: We do not have guides that are not from Northern New Hampshire! Thinking about another guide service? Be sure to ask where your guides are from!

Black Bear Hunts

NH Black Bear Hunts...it doesn't get any better!

2009 NH Bear Hunts are now CLOSED for booking. See you in 2010!

The New Hampshire black bear season typically starts September  1st and ends in late October, early November (Dependant on WMU). Hounding starts September 22 (Dependant on WMU)

Click here to view the 2009-2010 Hunting Digest. Hunters must have a NH resident/non-resident hunting license and a bear tag. Northern NH Guides offer black bear hunting over bait and with the use of dogs.

Whichever your preferred method, Black Bear hunts are one of our favorite hunts we provide. The early season unlocks opportunities not found with many other hunts.

The price of a bear hunt over bait includes three days of hunting from stands over exclusive baited sites. We place our hunters over the most active of our sites to increase success. Lodging is available for $50 per night, per person. Meals are not included.

We typically have a 80%-85% success rate.

Northern NH Guides are limited by the number of guided bear tags, limiting the number of these hunts and maximizing stand activity at baited sites. Therefore, space is limited for black bear hunts. Please call or email for more information.

Release the hounds for a great Black Bear Hunt.

Black Bear Hunts Over Bait     =        $600.00

Whitetail Deer Hunts

Even PJ can see deer with NNHGS!

The New Hampshire Deer Season begins September 15 with the fall archery season. Muzzleloader season begins in October  through November, followed by rifle season, ending early December, statewide. Fall Archery ends on December 15th. (Please see the  2009-2010 NH Hunting Digest for Antlered Only and Any Deer hunting restrictions) Hunters must have a valid NH resident/non-resident hunting license and deer tag for the method of deer you wish to take.

Whitetail deer is arguably the most hunted large game animal in North America. A deer hunt is steeped in tradition and the methods used to take a whitetail are as varied as the hunters who hunt them. Northern New Hampshire ’s Deer population is healthy but, the deer here remain an elusive and challenging animal to the most seasoned of hunters. The rewards can be great. Northern New Hampshire whitetail can be some of the most impressive of their species. A deer weighing over 200-pounds can be rewarding for those hunters with patience, skill, and a little bit of luck.

Northern NH Guide Services takes into account this current climate of deer hunting in New Hampshire and are able to offer one exclusive hunt for up to four (4) hunters for four (4) days for the 2009 season.

Nice One Tom!

This hunt includes a guide actively assisting in the hunt, lodging, some meals, flexible hunting strategies such as; stand hunting, drives, and still hunts, dressing and removal of the deer, transportation to deer registration station, and assistance with butchering and taxidermy if needed. This exclusive deer hunt will be customized to the hunter’s needs and abilities.

Pricing:

Whitetail Deer Hunt (4 hunters/4 days)      =        $2600.00

*A 50% deposit will be required at the time of booking your hunt

 Turkey Hunts

Barrett's meets Tom for the first time.

Wild New Hampshire Turkey ’s are back and have been rapidly increasing in popularity with NH hunters. They have become a common sight in most areas of the state and we are very happy that they have a thriving population.

The hunting season for Turkey is split into a spring and a fall, archery only hunt. A youth weekend is typically reserved for the first weekend before the regular spring season.

Turkey hunting has been a personal favorite of Chief Guide, Keith Roberge. His expertise in calls, behavior and a “knack” for turkey hunting has brought him and many other hunter’s successes. With his strong passion for the sport, we have reserved very few spring Turkey hunts. If you are interested in an exciting and personal hunting experience call or email us, space is limited.

Pricing

Spring Turkey        =       $200.00 per day

                                      + $50.00 game fee.
