Keith L. Roberge
Chief Guide/ Head of
Operations

Gorham, NH
Keith was literally "Born to Hunt".
He was raised in a strong hunting family in Berlin, NH. He has
lived in the north-country all his life and has chosen to live,
play and guide here.
He has a BA in Conservation Law from Unity
College in Maine. He worked as a State Park Ranger before starting
a career in law enforcement.
Hunting has been Keith's passion since his
childhood. After college he started helping friends and family
find moose, bear, deer and turkey as a past-time. It wasn't until
a couple years later that he made the step to guide
professionally.
It was his ability to consistently put people
in front of game that separated him from all other guides. As word
of mouth grew, so did the guide service. No advertising, just word
of mouth from people who knew that Keith was the guy to talk to
for hunting in Northern New Hampshire.

David C. Noyes
Guide/ Executive Officer

Plymouth, NH
Dave, like Keith, grew up in a family of avid
hunters. He and his three brothers learned the significance
of hunting at an early age. His father, grandfather and uncles
were his inspiration for the sport.
Raised in Berlin, NH, Dave grew up learning
about the north-country first hand. Things like, taking off the
first day of hunting season from school was a tradition.
Dave attended Norwich University, the
Military College of Vermont. He graduated with a BA in criminal
justice. Dave is a National Registered EMT-I, CPR/AED Instructor, Deputy Forest Fire Warden and a state certified
firearms instructor.
Dave fell into guiding by default. His
brothers and his best friend Keith, started guiding and needed the
help. Guiding gave Dave the opportunity to meet new people and
experience the thrill of the hunt all season long. Dave's current occupation keeps him in the
Plymouth, NH region. His ties to the north-county are still strong
and he frequently finds himself there, sometimes more often than
his own home!
He is the current Web Site manager. Let him
know what you think!

MOOSE
"Perfect!"
2008 NH Moose Season Report
We only need one word to describe this moose season,
"PERFECT!". The weather was the best it had ever been in the
past three years and the moose were plentiful. With the reduction of
permits in the north country, there was no concern for moose hunters
competing for prime moose territory. Hunters had plenty of room to
roam in their search for their NH trophy moose.
Here is a short report on the successful hunters
with Northern NH Guide Services. Be sure to visit the 2008
Photo Gallery to see all of this years pictures.
There
were not many moose hunters with Joel Smith and Gerry Zoltowski's
problems opening day. With the help of Guide Patrick Hickey, these
boys from Pennsylvania had to "wade" through sixteen other
moose in the same cut to get close enough to take down this big bull.
Their bull had a 53 3/4" wide rack and weighed 780 pounds.
Friends, Bud Brown and northern local, Luc Cote
managed to harvest a superb bull at the end of the first day. With
some tracking help from Chief Guide, Keith Roberge they were able to
locate this moose and get him ready for the wall. Nice job guys! 50
1/2" 775 pounds.
The
brothers from Ohio, Mike and Tom Sas, made the long drive to NH to
fill their cow tag. Guide David Noyes was there to show these guys
some extraordinary moose over the course of a day and a half. These
guys patiently waited for their cow to stroll within 110 yards before
taking their perfect shot. Stellar 3-1/2 year-old 545 pound cow.
Husband
and wife duo, Ron and Melissa Clark knew what perseverance and a
little bit of luck can do for a moose hunt. NNHGS Guide Leo Roberge
said, "They were tested early with some tough shots on
bulls in the first two days." They were finally able to sneak in
a kill shot from over 300 yards, on the third day, to take their
beautiful 42", 700 pound bull.
Guide
Chris Norton pointed Massachusetts hunters, Michael Wasson and his
father, toward their moose. They made filling their antlerless-only
tag look easy, taking down a nice 610 pound, four and a half year-old
cow at day break, on the first morning.

GREAT SEASON for 2007
Moose Hunters!
Clients of Northern NH Guide Services
certainly know what "hot" on the trail of a NH Moose was
like this year. Unseasonably hot weather for the start of the 20th
annual NH moose hunt made spotting NH Moose a difficult task.
Temperatures climbed into the mid-70's and on Monday it reached
82-degress. "This weather had certainly effected the moose and
their activities."
Chief Guide Keith Roberge said. The moose were not moving during the
day which was not typical for the late October season.
Despite the weather, NNHGS hunters
still managed to be in the right spot at the right time to take their
trophies.
Bill
Lee made the trek all the way from Owenton, Kentucky to take this
great bull about 50-minutes after the start of the season. He wrote
that he is please to have the freezer full of NH moose.
Rick
Caron and Doug Macgee of Bow, NH took this great bull on the third
evening of the hunt. This bull weighed in at 750 lbs. and had a
46" antler spread.
Returning
NNHGS moose hunter Albert Fini Jr. and his father, Albert Fini Sr. of
New York took this beautiful 600-pound bull on the 1st day of the
hunt.

Freshman Guide Chris Norton was with
fourteen year-old Cuinn McConnell when he made a spectacular 344 yard
shot to fell this young bull moose. He and his dad, Robert McConnell
of Effingham, NH hunted hard for five days before their perseverance
paid off. Nice job guys!
Our own guide, David Noyes was
fortunate to draw a moose
permit for WMU zone-B. He and his step-brother and subpermitee Gary
Lafoe of Wentworth Location, NH managed to take a great bull. Dave and
Gary's bull weighed 820-pounds, was aged at 5-1/2 years-old, and had a
rack 50" wide.
There was a total of 675 moose permits
issued for the 2007 NH Moose hunt. Nine of those hunters were with
Northern NH Guide Services.
More pictures and video of all these
trophies and the stories behind them coming soon. Visit
the photo gallery.

TURKEY
It was a
"BEARDED" Weekend!
The opening of the regular turkey
season illustrated that the harsh winter was no match for the rugged
NH turkey. A total of six large gobblers met their final demise with
Northern NH Guide Services over the weekend.
Long time friend of NNHGS, Barrett
Moulton of Belmont, NH took this great Tom opening day.
Barrett's gobbler weighed 20.5 lbs, 8.5" beard and 1" spurs.
Sweet!
Youth Turkey
Weekend a Blast!
04/27/2009
Hey! I don't think it's all luck that
three North Country youths managed to bag their gobbler over the NH
Youth Turkey Hunt weekend.
11
year-old Jay Bergeron of Berlin, NH had a tough run at a Tom early
Saturday morning. The tom got the upper hand at first light but, Jay
stuck in there with Uncle and Chief Guide Keith Roberge. About
mid-morning they managed to lure two Jakes into the decoys and one
well placed shot made the duo into a solo act. Jay's Jake weighed 15.8
pounds and scored 27.23. Nice job Jay!
On
Sunday morning father and daughter team, Michael and Monique Cote (9
years-old) teamed up again with Keith to nearly get trampled by the
turkeys coming into their decoys. Monique was able to hold-on for the
perfect shot for her nice Jake.
Recovery
Team Member, Paul Bourbeau and his nephew managed to take down a nice
Jake on the first morning of the hunt. Nice calling by Uncle Paul
managed to get this bird from field to freezer in no time.
BEAR
|
Client's set a "Record" for
BIG Black Bears this year!
|
9/20/2006
Wow! Is the only word that describes
the quality of bears that have been taken by Northern NH Guides
clients in the past two weeks. Clients took three bears weighing over 300
pounds and three bears over 200 pounds! The
biggest rang in at 422 lbs!!!!!! Wait till' you see the pictures and
the video from these hunts. Look below!
Army Veteran, Brandon Pfuhl of Rhode
Island, opened the season with a single, spectacular shot from his
.308 Browning at a measured distance of over 300 yards to fall his 320
lb. black bear. What a shot! Congrats Brandon!
Chief Guide, Keith Roberge (L) with Brandon Pfuhl,
of Rhode Island - 320lb. Boar
Despite the physical challenges of
being paraplegic and in a wheelchair, Norman Roberge of Berlin, NH,
took a 422 lb. Bruin with his Ten-Point Crossbow from a ground stand! Way to go Norman!
Norman Roberge Berlin, NH - 422lb. Boar
Wayne Estes of Milton, NH almost made
it look too easy when he took an impressive bear that tipped the
scales at 370 lbs. Nice!
Chief Guide, Keith Roberge with Estes' 370 lb. Boar
Sixteen year-old Michael Cummings and
his father Ed had another great time with Northern NH Guide Services.
Mike fell a 200-pound bear less than 30-feet from his tree stand on
their first night. Great job Mike!

Michael and his father, Ed Cummings, 200 lb. Boar
